Song of broke guys make waves

NEW kid on the block, Sun-EL Musician, is making waves on radio stations.

His single, Akanamali, featuring vocalist Samthing Soweto, was inspired by young men struggling to find love because of being broke.

Faith brought together the two musicians who love each other’s music, and the new single was born.

Sun-EL, whose real name is Sanele Sithole said: “I used to call myself Sun-EL but now I am Sun-EL Musician because I make music.”

The 29-year-old producer and DJ from Mooi River in KZN said their song’s lyrics made him realise women will settle for a guy who doesn’t respect them just because of his money.

He told SunBuzz in today’s society, it is hard to find love if you don’t have cash.

“We had no intention of calling the song Akanamali until we were done recording.

“Samthing came into the studio, recorded his vocals and left.

“I didn’t have a beat at all.

“I kept on listening to the vocals until I had a melody in my head,” said Sun-El.

He is working on his new album, also titled Akanamali.

“I was inspired by my current single and kept on recording until I had enough tracks.

“Most of the songs on my album are about life and what I have gone through.”

His music is from the heart and he said he can’t function without it. “Now I’m comfortable to make music I love and that people will enjoy.

“I don’t box myself in and try to accommodate fans. This album is a mixture of sounds,” said Sun-EL.
