Minnie Dlamini-Jones reaches new heights

The entertainment industry is generally known to be one that is not quite ideal to have a long and fruitful career in. Even individuals that are not too familiar with how this industry works, can tell you a thing or two about a celebrity that has fallen out of the fame and fortune.

Creatives that primarily work in front of the camera, usually find comfort in occupying that space in the industry, with some being totally oblivious to the numerous work opportunities that exist in other sectors from within the industry.

One of South Africa’s most loved media personality, Minnie Dlamini-Jones is one to look out for, as she has already started to anticipate the longevity and sustainability of her career within the Arts. The Kwa Zulu Natal-born star has established her own television production company called, Beautiful Day Productions – with two amazing productions under the belt, Becoming Mrs Jones and Spirit of Mzansi.

Speaking to Sunday Sun, Minnie revealed that she is at the point in her career, whereby she is seriously venturing out to the executive side of the business of television.

“I’ve always wanted to be in business. It’s been a beautiful (and) natural progression, growing into the creative side of things. ”

There is only a handful of on-screen talent that has created life long and sustainable careers with solely working in front of the camera, however, many haven’t considered tapping into other mediums within the creative industry.

“When you acquire the skills to write, produce or be a showrunner, it always keeps you in the forefront, said Minnie.”

Minnie continued to add the following: “I am enjoying my role as a content curator. This is where I see my future. The next phase is about exploring different opportunities, growing as a professional and diversifying.”

The future of the sustainability of on-screen talents seems to lie in the art of diversifying.

Other well-known faces that have fully immersed themselves in behind the camera work is, Lungile Radu. The television presenter and actor recruited fellow actor, Thomas Gumede and TV Presenter, Siyabonga Scoop Makhathini, who has since left the company due to undisclosed reasons, to form partners in a television production company called PAP.

Parental Advisory Productions (PAP) has now spearheaded by Lungile and Thomas. Over the years, their production company has blessed the viewers with sizzling and entertaining content including shows such as Abomama, Uyang’thanda na? and Forever Young to mention a few.

We love it when our beloved celebrities take ownership of their careers. This ensures that they will be in the Arts for years to come.
