Soweto Mandlanzi knows who killed Senzo Meyiwa?

Mzansi has come knocking on the door of author Soweto Mandlanzi. He’s been asked to expose the killers of slain soccer icon Senzo Meyiwa. This following his latest work, a biography about the late footie titled Decoding 666_9: The Inexplicable Life Of Senzo Meyiwa.

In the work, Soweto details the life of the Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana player including his love triangle with his wife Mandisa and Afro-soul singer Kelly Khumalo.

According to the book, Senzo was “accidentally” shot when he tried to intervene in a quarrel between Kelly’s sister Zandi and her boyfriend Longwe Twala.

This at the singer’s mum’s home in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni on 26 October 2014.

The footie was gunned down in the presence of Kelly, her mum, Zandi, Longwe, Meyiwa’s friends Mthokozisi Thwala, Tumelo Madlala and Kelly’sfour-year-old son Christian.

When Soweto announced the biog, many South Africans thought the killer would finally be fingered.

On Facebook, Candy Siziba posted: We wanna know who killed Senzo mxm.

Duduzile Noma Dux posted: For now, we want justice for Senzo ukuthi who loved who where and why we don’t care . . .

In the biography, Soweto stops short of mentioning the killers’ names.

Said Tumelo in an extract of the biography: Senzo and Mthoko took Kelly and Zandie to his new place where he stayed with Kelly.

It was a two-by-two situation for about four days. Longwe kept calling them (Kelly and Zandi), but they ignored his calls.

This made him angry.

Longwe is said to have then stopped calling Kelly but allegedly continued trying and eventually got hold of Zandi.

On that fateful day, they’d just finished eating.

Explained Tumelo: Longwe came into the house . . . he didn’t greet anyone except Kelly’s mum and Zandie.

There was a feeling of an angel (of death) passing the house when he came in.

So heavy was the atmosphere that we all looked at each other. He ate alone . . . he did not even speak or say many things, as the gun he was carrying did all the talking . . .

Without naming names, Tumelo adds: The people in the house know who killed Senzo . . .

You cannot tell me that neighbours did not see . . .

They know who killed Senzo.

We have all gone to Joburg Police Station as witnesses who were in the house.

But Longwe was nowhere to be found.

Why is Longwe all of a sudden no longer a part of us…?

In his response Soweto said: “My job was to tell the story as it is and I believe I’ve done that. It was not my job to name the killers but the courts. As a consequence, this biography is not a court document or form of evidence. However, I shall be handing copies of it to AFriForum.”
