Well known KZN taxi boss Nkalankala Zungu gunned down
The KZN taxi wars continue, a well known KZN taxi boss Mtukabongwa Zungu also known as “Nkalankala” has been gunned down last night, according to IOL news the 76 year old taxi boss was gunned down in his Toyota Quantum when he was returning from a funeral.
According to IOL news an unknown assassin came up to his car and started firing multiple shots which he instantly died at the scene it was around 3:40 pm, Nkalankala Zungu was from Osuthu village in Nongoma, he owned a fleet of taxis in the Nongoma taxi rank which offered long distance transportation and was a well respected taxi boss in his community.
Zungu was a controversial figure in 2018 he was arrested with two other men for the murder of Thank Nyembe who was murdered in 2016
KZN spokeswoman Nqobile Gwala revealed that a murder case is under investigation and whoever have information regarding the shooting should contact the police, Santaco has also sent it’s condolences to the family of Mtukabongwa “Nkalankala” Zungu.
