SASSA Has Released Payment Dates For Its Grant Beneficiaries

SASSA has been the governments entity that has been commonly spoken of among South African citizens since the inception of lock down. To understand a bit bout SASSA, it is an abbreviation for South African Social Security Agency, it is an establishment in terms of South African Social Security Agency Act, 2004 and it is mandated to ensure the provision of comprehensive social security services against vulnerability and poverty within the constitutional and legislative frame work.

The role of this government entity is to provide different types of social grants, Social Relief Distress (SRD) grants and also the delivery of social assistance grants. The primary role of SASSA is to assist citizens from vulnerable households.

Earlier today SASSA has released payment dates for its grant beneficiaries (see picture above for details). Older person’s grant will be payed from the 5th of October 2020, disability grants will be payed from the 6th of October 2020 and then all the other grants will be payed from the 7th of October 2020.
