Pedestrians Ignore Dying Man in Verulam, KZN, Citing His Reputation as a Thief and Drug User

RIP: A Well-known drug dealer found dead few hours after begging residents to take him to the hospital.

In a concerning incident in Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal, pedestrians chose not to assist an unresponsive male lying on the pavement, ultimately leading to his death.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received reports and dispatched medics to Todd Street after the man was found motionless.

Upon arrival, RUSA Medics confirmed the man, believed to be in his thirties, had passed away.

Witnesses on the scene revealed that they had noticed the same individual in the same location the previous afternoon.

At that time, he had complained of severe weakness. However, due to his reputation as a known drug user and alleged thief, the pedestrians chose not to offer any assistance.

While the cause of death is suspected to be natural causes, further investigation is required to confirm this conclusion.
