Robbery Suspect Arrested and Gun Recovered in Canelands, KZN!

Canelands, KwaZulu-Natal: A Malawian national was apprehended yesterday afternoon (Sunday) in Canelands, KZN after being found in possession of a replica firearm used in a robbery.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to a distress call on Vincent Dickenson Road at around 17:22.
Reports indicated that a man had brandished a firearm, threatening to harm employees at a business establishment.
Upon arrival, Reaction Officers swiftly confronted and subdued the suspect.
A firearm was recovered from his possession.
Upon closer inspection, it was determined that the weapon was a blank gun, designed to resemble a real firearm. While at the scene, Reaction Officers were approached by an individual who claimed to have been a victim of the same suspect.
The victim alleged that the suspect had fired a shot before stealing R300 in cash from him at the Muslim Cemetery in Canelands, KZN.
A spent blank cartridge was discovered at the scene as evidence.
The suspect has been detained by the South African Police Service (SAPS) for further investigation.
