Renowned filmmaker, writer, and co-creator of the groundbreaking youth drama ‘Yizo Yizo’, Teboho Mahlatsi, has tragically passed away.
The Mahlatsi family confirmed his untimely death in a statement, expressing their deep sadness and requesting privacy during this mourning period.
Teboho Mahlatsi was a highly regarded figure in the industry, known for his work as a screenwriter, producer, and director. As the director of The Bomb Shelter Film Company, he played a vital role in creating notable productions, including the controversial and influential series ‘Yizo Yizo’ (1999), which is currently available on Netflix.
He also contributed to projects such as ‘Portrait of a Young Man Drowning’ (1999) and ‘For Love and Broken Bones’ (2016).
In addition to his notable contributions to television, Mahlatsi also made his mark as the director of ‘Shuga: Love, Sex and Money’. His talent, creativity, and dedication to storytelling have left a lasting impact on the industry.
