A salon is a place known for offering beauty treatments, hair styling, and hair care products. Unfortunately, last week, a distressing incident unfolded at one salon, where a 16-year-old girl faced public humiliation after being unable to pay for a hairstyle.
The incident captured the attention of millions of social media users across Africa, leaving many disturbed by the footage of the young lady being physically abused and having her hair shaved off.
Questions arose about whether she deserved such treatment for not disclosing her financial constraints before the hairstylist proceeded with the hairstyle.
It was disheartening to learn that not only was the girl’s hair cut, but she was also subjected to physical abuse. What made matters worse was the revelation that she was a regular customer at that particular salon, and they even used her picture for advertising within the establishment.
Amidst the negative online attention and cyberbullying the girl faced, a ray of hope emerged in the form of a kind-hearted woman named Tshidi.
Tshidi, who happened to live nearby, took it upon herself to reach out and support the young girl during her difficult time.

Visiting the girl’s house, Tshidi brought much-needed comfort and uplifted her spirits by taking her out for shopping. The act of kindness aimed to remind the girl that she is not alone and that there are caring individuals ready to support her through challenging times.
Tshidi shared her heartwarming gesture on social media, expressing the importance of reaching out to touch somebody’s hand and making the world a better place.
