Former Miss South Africa, Liesl Laurie Mthombeni, has issued a strong warning to individuals posting insensitive comments on her social media.
She asserts her readiness to block anyone making such comments.
Social media has increasingly become a platform for hurtful comments, particularly regarding people’s personal lives.
Liesel recently responded to trolls speculating about her body and suggesting she is pregnant.
On her Instagram, as the wife of Dr. Musa, she firmly stated her intention to block anyone posting inappropriate comments. S
he also dispelled rumors of her pregnancy, clarifying that bloating during her period was a natural occurrence for women. She said:
“If you post any comment on my page alluding to pregnancy, I’m going to block you — and I hope other people also block people who make inappropriate comments. As women, our bodies go through so much. So no, Jennifer, I’m not hiding my pregnancy or pregnant — I’m bloated because I’m on my period, because that’s what happens to women and you as a woman should understand that.”
Laurie’s stance resonated with many women who have faced similar disrespect. They praised her for addressing this issue and shared their own experiences of boundary-crossing comments from friends, colleagues, and family members.
