DJ Maphorisa withdraws from AfroPiano Festival 2023 Appearance Over Disrespect
DJ Maphorisa has decided not to attend the AfroPiano Festival 2023, despite being initially included in the lineup.
The festival featured prominent artists like Focalistic and various other African talents.
Maphorisa used his social media platforms to publicly announce his withdrawal from the event.
He further explained that his artists would also not be participating.
He expressed his dissatisfaction with the organizers for what he described as a disrespectful inclusion of his name in the lineup.
“I won’t be performing; I’ll be in Malawi 🇲🇼 @afropianofest. Totally disrespectful, especially for a promoter from outside the country trying to profit from us,” Lawd Phori stated.
He also added, “None of my artists will be attending this event – @niapearlza @tylericu. I hope they paid @focalistic.”
The decision to withdraw from the festival was due to concerns of disrespect towards the artists, particularly by organizers from abroad.
