IMMEDIATE HIRE – BOOKKEEPER (CAPE TOWN)
Our client is a non-profit organization registered with the Dept of Social Development as a Child Protection Agency. It has a long-standing history of serving the best interest of children in Cape Town, and has an established and well-known brand. The members of the Society all share a commitment to the common good, and making the world a better place, especially for children.
The core team is currently looking for a Bookkeeper to assist in streamlining processes and serving as support to the organisation’s objectives. The incumbent will work with various stakeholders, including The City of Cape Town. This job is based in Athlone, Cape Town, to be signed on for 12 months, with the option of a permanent appointment subject to satisfactory performance appraisal.

Core Areas of Work:
-Writing out of receipts
-Writing out of Section 18As
-Typing out of Thankyou letters
-Typing up of donations list every month
-Requesting quotes when needed
-Process insurance claims
-Process death claims
-Typing up of requisition when doing payments
-Capturing of bank statement on a monthly basis
-Typing up of a monthly payment expenses list when doing payments
-Updating of City of Cape Town (COCT) spreadsheet on a monthly basis
-Capturing of invoices for tenant for rent and municipal recoveries and sending off tenants
-Scanning of financial records to the cloud
-Sorting out of queries with the COCT when needed
-Typing out of budget vs Actual of budget for the month and indicating on over expended items
-Printing out of forms for reception
-Checking of payroll on a monthly basis and scan and send to Reporting Solutions
-Inspecting Leases of properties for expiry and rental increases
-Keep track and distribution of drug tests
-Preparing of adoption invoices when needed
-Maintaining Inventory- Assets registers for all departments
-Update asset register
-Assist with property register
-Assist with property related admin
Requirements for the Role:
-Relevant tertiary qualification in bookkeeping, finance, accounting, or related,
-3 – 5 years Bookkeeping experience,
-Proficiency in MS Office and data software packages,
-Sound communication and organisation skills,
-Good client building relationship skills,
-An energetic problem solver with a flair for societal work
