‘Celebrating a hit’: Kelly Khumalo appears drunk after night of partying

Kelly Khumalo has joked about having a hangover that will last her “five months” after overindulging this week. This, amid news that she may cleared as a suspect in the 2014 murder of her boyfriend Senzo Meyiwa.

On Monday 13 June, the NPA ruled that a second docket – which named Kelly Khumalo and six other adults as murder suspects – was not valid.

The news was revealed during the trial’s proceedings, which resumed in the Pretoria High Court.

CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION?

According to the Gauteng director of public prosecutions Andrew Chauke; the second docket was dismissed after its existence was made public knowledge last week.

Chauke’s official response was read by defence advocate Zandile Mshololo during court. In the letter, the DDP official claims that docket “375” was merely “an internal opinion from a junior state advocate”.

“This office did not make any decision or otherwise regarding the case docket. The alleged document does not have any status [and] was an internal opinion from a junior advocate which was without merit,” Mshololo read in court.

In docket 375, seven adults are named as murder suspects. They are Kelly Khumalo, her mother Gladness, her sister Zandi and her boyfriend Longwe Twala, and Senzo’s two friends Tumelo Madlala and Mthokozisi Thwala. Also named in the docket was Maggie Phiri, the woman who allegedly cleaned the Vosloorus home in which Senzo was shot and killed.

On Instagram, Kelly’s sister Zandie also seemingly celebrated the news. This, after she posted a picture of Advocate Mshololo, who is representing one of the men accused of participating in the hit.

In the caption, Zandie commented on Mshololo who was dressed in traditional Zulu attire.
