Commenting on former President Jacob Zuma refusal to appear before the State Capture Commission of Inquiry, the Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula said that Zuma will lose nothing by appearing before the Commission. This comes after the Commission has requested that Zuma should be jailed for two years for defying the Constitutional Court order.
Mbalula said that Zuma’s supporters on various social media are misleading him. He said that the law is properly applied and people should stop misleading him for their own ends.
He further said that South Africa is a constitutional country and people should stop testing the system. But it seems like Mbalula comments has landed him in trouble with the daughter of Zuma.
On her Twitter account, Zuma’s daughter, Dudu Zuma-Sambudla, said, “what did you say?”
“That’s true Minister. It will appear some people don’t understand the essence of the enquiry. They behave as if someone will be imprisoned. The enquiry is meant to establish the truth and hence make some recommendations. This will help us understand how things were being done,” said Twitter user.
