Former soapie actress Masasa Mbangeni “ridiculed for being a teacher”
Actress Masasa Mbangeni has developed a thick skin to the side comments she’s received about being a teacher to young actors.
Masasa who has been in the industry for years is passionate about inspiring others, and has even pushed through being mocked.
Taking to Twitter recently Masasa spoke out about her experience.
“I get mocked by some in the industry about teaching but to see my students grow and flourish and #OpenUpTheIndustry with the talent is worth any perceived fall,” she said.
Masasa added that nothing could compare to the reward of one of her students scoring a gig.
“And just when I have lost hope, I get a call saying one of my students has booked a major television show. I’m so happy I burst into tears. Hearing my students win, in spite of the challenges of this industry makes me believe that one day things will get better,” she added.
