#Gomora Actress Zinzi Nsele(Zoliswa) pulls a shocker!!!

Actress Zinzi Nsele has opened up about her role on Gomora.

She currently plays the role of new school teacher Zoliswa Madikizela.

“Playing Zoliswa has a special significance to me because her surname, Madikizela, is my late gogo’s. I was shocked when I got the script because I never told writers or producers about my personal background,” she said.

Zinzi said Zoliswa was very nice, but had a shocker that would leave people’s jaws on the floor.

“I cannot reveal much, except that Zoliswa will keep everyone on the edge of their seats.”

The actress said she and Zoliswa shared a lot of similarities.

“She is soft-spoken, patient, brave and a go-getter. But, she does not like being taken advantage of. I’m also patient, and don’t like it when people take advantage of my good heart. I am different from Zoliswa, as she wears formal clothes, unlike me. I dress according to my mood,” she said.

Zinzi said this role was her real break.

“I studied at Durban University of Technology and graduated in 2002. I was already in the industry when I completed my studies.

“This means I’ve been in the game for almost 20 years, but more in theatre.”

Zinzi has been featured in productions including Generations: The Legacy and The Queen.

“These opened doors for me. But Gomora is my big break.

Zoliswa’s character has effectively introduced me to the South African audience,” she said.

“I am currently working on a cultural project that revolves around the Mpondo culture. The aim is to educate people about my culture, which is Mpondo.

“Many people assume I am Xhosa, but there is a huge difference between Xhosa and Mpondo culture. The play will highlight these dynamics,” she said.Zinzi said this role was her real break.
