He served God during the day and drank alcohol at night.
But he lost everything because of alcohol.
Gospel singer Khulekani Chilli wants to help other addicts after he appeared on Moja Love to help him overcome his drinking habit.
Khulekani said he started helping other addicts in September.
“I tell the addicts about how alcohol destroyed my life and music career, and that it’s possible to turn one’s life around,” he said.
He said he neglected his life between 2012 and 2019 and became a drunkard.
“In the beginning I liked Black Label but ended up drinking any alcohol to nurse my habit,” he said.
The devil took control of my life and I was even running away from people who wanted to help me.
“I’m thankful to Moja Love and Tranquillity Rehabilitation Clinic, who helped me beat my addiction.”
Khulekani, a Tranquillity ambassador, said though it’s difficult to deal with addicts, he won’t lose hope.
“Some addicts are very stubborn, but one has to be patient.
“I’ll never go back to alcohol because it ruined my life.
“Addiction is like a chronic disease because you can’t live without taking medication.”
Khulekani thanked Tranquillity owner Gibson Kistan for helping him get another chance in life.
He also thanked Mandla Makhubela for helping him make a comeback.
In addition, Khulekani thanked the many people who gave him messages of hope.
He released his sixth album titled Imisebenzi kaThixo in April.
