Nikita Murray and her husband have hired a legal team to set the record straight after Expresso TV presenter Katlego Maboe implicated her in a cheating scandal video.
Katlego implicated Nikita in the video as the woman he’s been having an affair with, his wife alleged that she had contracted an STD because of Katlego’s cheating.
Nikita’s lawyer; Vincent Bergh issued a statement on behalf of Nikita and her husband; Matthew Murray: “Our clients are very perturbed about the wild allegations flying around in the media, involving Mrs Murray and her family.”
According to the statement, Nikita has undergone a medical test, which confirmed she has no STD.
“Due to these allegations, Mrs Murray had undergone a medical test to confirm that she has no s_xually transmitted disease. The claims by Mr Maboe that Mrs Murray was the cause of him contracting the STD as accused of by the person who made the video, is therefore irresponsible and impossible.”
Mr Bergh further stated that Nikita and her husband have had to deal with the damage the “malicious video” caused and concluded: “We want to reiterate that our clients are happily married and they have dealt with the effects of this malicious video in private. Their marriage is stronger than before. They want to thank all their family and friends and the public who had supported them during these trying times. We trust that you will set the record straight and not harass our clients any further.”
Maboe is still suspended from Espresso Morning Show pending the outcome of an investigation. OUTsurance has also taken the decision to pull all adverts featuring Maboe until further notice. Maboe and Monique were due to appear in court on November 3.
