Some people will do anything for fame and wealth, just like Sbusiso Gcabashe who prefers to stay in prison for lying about being someone who died long ago.
Gcabashe made headlines for impersonating a dead well known king of maskandi music Khuleni “Mgqumeni” Khumalo. Sbusiso Gcabashe was found guilty of a strings of charges, including kidnapping and r_ping an 18 year old girl.
He then was convicted of impersonating Mgqumeni Khumalo who died in 2009.
Thousands of maskandi fans flocked to Mgqumeni Khumalo’s house in KwaZulu-Natal in 2012 believing he has rose from the dead as Gcabashe claimed.
Mr Gcabashe came three years after the death of Mgqumeni and claimimg that he had been kidnapped by a witchdoctor who had cast a spell on him and held him as his Tikoloshe ( Zombie).
His fingerprints proved that he was not Mgqumeni Khumalo, and looked nothing like Mgqumeni but he continued saying he is Mgqumeni.
The Khumalo family appeared split over his identity. While his wives believed he was their husband and returned from the dead.
The man was given many chances to come clean but he refused to speak the truth, even now he is refusing to come clean and is busy recording songs in jail studio saying he will release them once he comes out of prison cells.
