Is Duduzane Zuma A Foreign National?, This Is Where He Was Born Before Moving To South Africa

He greeted the Ladies and Gentlemen, Panelists, Commander, Ms Mseleku, And expressed how proud and honored he was to be sharing the stage with them, he thanked them for their time.

He further went on to thank the brothers dealing with the sound system and the acoustics. He congratulated the Umlazi Youth League on re-launching, 1982 is a very long time ago but it’s a proud moment for him because he was born in 1982, so he said that he shares the same birthday as UMYOLE, and they are both 39 years old.

He asked “where are we in our country today?” and said that he thinks that’s a question we need to ask ourselves and also ask where is it that we’re headed, he further went on to say that we need to understand our history, our past and where we need to get to.

‘The fortunate part about us living in this period in 2021 is; we have a history that we can look back on, a history that we can reflect on, and that hindsight is an exact Science” he said there are periods in history where there are mistakes that were made, periods where the country reached massive milestones and that gap in between is where we need to focus on, on how we move forward with this journey.

For the benefit of the people at home who are streaming live, he acknowledged that the majority of people in that room were female, and above the age of 50, the breakdown between male and female in this room, you have a strong 60% female, 40% male, youth representation, was at 30% in this room, he mentioned this for one reason, every time people are given an opportunity to say something, they need to understand their audience, understand who it is we’re speaking to because the number breakdown of everyone in that room reflects the dynamic of what exists outside.

The marketing around that event on the poster, was a big word written ‘LEGACY’ and that’s what he wanted to focus on.

He further went on to describe Legacy as an inheritance, a way of doing things that have existed previously and have been passed down to a generation, whether it be a family, a business, or an organization, and he thought that he spoke volumes about where the nation is. The legacy that UMYOLE brings to the table is a 39 year old legacy, it’s nothing to frown about because that is a very long time, they were re-launching that day and he thought it says a lot about where we are as a country.

UMYOLE is stepping up and basically saying ‘we want to be a part of where this country is going, we’ve done it before and we’re prepared to do it again’, so we respect that and we applaud it. He said when it comes to legacy, we all need to put our credentials on the table as well as individuals, before we fit into an organization or a movement, we all have our credentials, big or small, recognized or not, we’re all products of our environment.

He then said “allow me to introduce myself, my name is Duduzane Zuma and I was born in 1982”. He was born in Maputo, Mozambique and he was born to South African parents, Kate and Jacob.

He said that he has lived in Mozambique, Harare, Zimbabwe, Lusaka, Zambia, before coming to South Africa in the early to mid-90s. He mentioned this because he wanted people to know part of his history that he cannot change or take away, he said that he is a known child of exile but that being said, there’s a lot that he has learned in exile that forms part of his legacy and the way he approaches his life, his situations and challenges.

He said that he has been a businessman his whole life, that’s a decision he took because of trying to take Himself and his family out of the economic conditions they had. Contrary to popular belief, he was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth, they’ve had challenges in their lives, they have seen their elders struggle through a time where there was no finish line in sight and eventually they crossed it.
