Makhadzi Shades DJ Maphorisa For Catching Feelings

Makhadzi usually stays away from social media drama, for the most part. She minds her business, and focuses on the bag. But it looks like this time, DJ Maphorisa’s drama was too juicy for the queen to ignore.

In a recent post, Makhadzi announced that she would be holding a concert in Botswana. She shared a poster that has her headlining an event, which will be graced by some of Botswana’s top musicians, including Vee Mampeezy.

But it was the accompanying caption that brought all the smoke. The Ghanama crooner said that she would never miss a gig in Botswana.

To anyone who has been keeping up with the news, this is thinly veiled shade aimed at Dj Maphorisa. The artist was scheduled to perform in Botswana but canceled at the last minute, leaving many of his fans angry.

He made the whole thing worse by not communicating to the fans. Further, he reportedly blamed his no-show on insecurity in the country, saying that he did not feel safe in Botswana. The suggestion that security standards in the whole country could not match up to his standards was insulting to his Batswana fans, especially considering his co-collaborator, Kabza De Small, showed up and had a great show, with no known security incident.

Makhadzi’s comment is made even worse by the fact that she said she catches flights not feelings. Phori, after trending on Botswana social media for three days straight, came out to throw shade at his fans in the country, basically asking them to grow up and stop whining because they didn’t get their way.

Doesn’t that sound like catching feelings to you? Especially when the one who had a security incident will be going back, but Phori cancelled with no logical basis for his fears.

It would be rather hilarious if the African queen’s shade was in fact meant for Madumane. It would mean the backlash was so great that even she got involved in it. But then again, the two of them probably have vastly different experiences with the country.

The Zwivhuya star obviously loves it there. She just came back from a great tour which resulted in a mini stampede when she was late to her set. The fans went wild waiting for her, and a lot of damage was done as fans threw bottles on stage, and the security guards got physically violent with them.

But she will not let that solitary incident define the rest of her relationship with her Batswana fans. She is on a winning streak, and she will win wherever the ground is prime for her.

She has also announced that her R120 Million dollar deal with Kicks Sports SA is finally coming to fruition. Her line named Kokovha will be coming out on the 9th of December, and we are supe excited about it. Good going queen!
