Mzansi Is Ready To Cancel Miss SA 2021 Lalela Mswane

It was not that long ago when it was announced that Miss SA, Lalela Mswane was going to be representing South Africa at the Miss Universe beauty pageant in Israel. And while this came as good news to some, most of Mzansi was not at all pleased with these news seeing that Israel is an apartheid state.

The pageant that is currently ongoing in Israel, has had Lalela topping Twitter trends yet again and it is clear that Mzansi has decided to not let her have her moment. Initially, many had thought that after being dragged online that Lalela would step down but clearly they all had another thing coming.

Already, tweeps are already reacting to her recent acts at the pageant, and while many are really proud and happy to see her choice in style and costume, others have decided they have had enough of the pageant already. Let us have a look at some of the reactions.

However, despite all the hate that is still making rounds on social media about Lalela, others are standing in solidarity with the queen saying that at the end of the day whether or not she wins or not at the pageant, and whether or not South Africa decides to abandon her as one of their on, she will forever remain a South African.

Many have taken to wish her all the best even as they hope that she brings the crown home as Miss Universe and we love to see it as well. Truly, according to fans, the pageant is not a political pageant and for that reason alone, she deserves all the support she can get.

This has not been an easy journey for Miss SA. From the minute it was announced that she would be taking part in the pageant, she has received a lot of backlash not just from the country but also from the government.

Many were shocked when the government announced that they would be withdrawing their support and both local and international critics were out for blood.

In a statement they said, “The South African government withdraws its support and that of South Africa for the Miss South Africa pageant following the latter’s intransigence and disregard of advice against partaking in the Miss Universe pageant scheduled to be held in Israel during the month of December 2021.

What during initial consultations appeared like engaging, constructive and progressive discussions, was later met with an unpleasant demeanour that is intransigent and lacking appreciation of the potential negative impact of such a decision on the reputation and future of a young black woman.”

All things considered, we wish Miss SA 2021 Lalela Mswane all the very best during the ongoing pageant. Here’s to bringing the crown back home!
