The South African Football national team (Bafana Bafana) got their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign underway when they faced neighboring Zimbabwe this afternoon (Friday 3 September 2021), but unfortunately the match was not an entertaining affair as it dragged out for 90 minutes until it ended with a nil nil draw (0-0).
The draw left a lot of South Africans disappointed as they quickly took to Twitter to express their disappointment and outrage about Bafana Bafana’s underwhelming performance…
“Our football is amateurish, in fact, I think there is some excitement with amateur football than what I have seen here in 90+. No coordination, structure & creativity. And yes, the Coach had a week with these players, but we are talking about pro players. #BafanaBafana #WCQ
“This coach just told the players their positions only and said “let’s go guys come on” no tactics”
“I love our National team shame no doubt. But for the sake of peace and avoiding heartbreak I’m accepting as early as today that we are not going to Qatar 2022.”
“We should focus on rugby and other sport, because this soccer thing ain’t working fam”
“There’s no way Bafana Bafana will beat Ghana with this kinda players”
“Bathi we must vaccinate so we can go & watch this”
Full-time: Zimbabwe and Bafana Bafana share the spoils.
