Nkayi who hails from Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape furthered her studies at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, where she graduated with a degree in International Media Studies, after finishing her matric. After graduating from abroad, Nkayi enrolled at Rhodes University where she graduated with a degree in Journalism.

Since her divorce, the media personality is always seen rocking the best outfits and glowing on Idols and social media. She recently broke the internet when she shared pictures of herself in a stylish, lacy black number on her Instagram account.
