SAD: Lesedi Matsunyane Ferguson breakdown at the Royalty Soapie Awards

Lesedi Matsunyane Ferguson is reeling with grief and struggling to come to terms with her father’s passing. She opened up yesterday after the airing of Royalty Soapie Awards on SABC 1.

This week marked two months since the passing of actor and businessman Shona Ferguson. He lost his battle with COVID-19 and passed away at the Milpark private hospital in Johannesburg in August.

Taking to Twitter, Lesedi said she broke down after presenting a segment at the Royalty Awards. “We have lost so many of our own in the shortest time. #RoyaltySoapieAwards Seeing him up there makes no sense and it never will. #TheShoGoesOn PS: he was born in ‘74, not ‘72,” she tweeted.

Yesterday fans finally got to watch the 2021 Royalty Soapie Awards on SABC. The Founder of the awards and actress Winnie Ntshaba took to Instagram to thank her team for their hard work.

” Your dedication, hard work, sleepless nights, long zoom meetings, endless presentations, we never lost hope even when we got turned down. Your belief in this project is bearing fruits daily, thank you!” she wrote.

Winnie also thanked production houses for cooperating when she calls for their participation, “this simply means you are of one vision with us… these awards are for us all in the creative arts!” she aadded.

The 72-year-old veteran actress Dr. Lillian Dube received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
