Most SASSA grants beneficiaries are used to going to the ATM’s or post office on the first of every month. This was the only allocated day, to make payments on beneficiaries account, whether bank of their choice or SASSA card.
Having payments available on the first of the month doesn’t mean you MUST collect it same day, you can always withdraw it any day.
However, corona outbreak had changed how SASSA grants payment used to be, now each grant is allocated its special day. The changes were implemented to ensure the safety of grant collector, more especially the most vulnerable ones, as older people.
Old age grant had been made the first priority, so that older people collect their payment first, followed by disability grant and all other grants will be paid last. Old age grant will be made available on the first of December 2020. When it comes to February 2021 and March 2021 payments the dates does not differ. It is from the 3rd to 5th on both months.
