For the first time president Ramaphosa took to the podium to address the nation concerning the violent protests that have been gripping the nation among other thorny issues. President slammed what he called ethic mobilization to cause social unrest in the county, making it the first time he acknowledges that protests are driven by people of a certain tribe.
President said that the constitution allows people to pretest if they are not satisfied with certain things but violence and anarchy will not be tolerated. He said that he understands that there are people who are hurt and angry but that doesn’t give them the right to destroy other people’s property. He calls upon people who are committed to nontribal and united South Africa to condemn the violent behavior.
