Thembi Seete trivia: The things you did not know about Tay-Tay

With a recently launched makeup bar, Thembi Seete continues to be a force to reckon with in the South African entertainment industry. Energetic and ready to conquer, Thembi has been around for a decade serving us good kwaito music, acting gigs and well-orchestrated television presenting skills.

41-year-old Thembi born on 25 March 1977 graced our television screens in the 90s as part of South Africa’s most loved-up kwaito group Boom Shaka which was highly active between 1994 and 2000 before the group split with Thembi continuing her game as a solo artist, actress and many more.

However, it will be a farce for one to go about without noticing her love for fashion, good vibes and positively impacting on the industry. Although many years on screen Thembi has managed to maintain a clean sheet which she says comes from knowing and respecting one’s priorities.

Speaking to the media, Thembi once said that sharing one’s personal life will always come with trouble because once you give people your personal life, you share too much and that would give them the freedom and right to do and say as they please.

And that’s why she kept her pregnancy a secret for such a long time.

From kwaito, television presenting and acting, Thembi has been around the most, done it all but still remains one of the country’s most loved artists as fans also fancy how she has managed to stay young and positive at 41.

But as the old saying goes: wine tastes better with time Thembi continues to take the industry by storm with her latest endeavour – the launch of Azuri beauty bar, a collaborated effort with her close friends Sharon Khuzwayo and Mbali Nkosi.

Also a wide traveller, Thembi recently went on a lavish vacation in Jamaica with speculations that she was celebrating her post-baby period, a baby she has successfully kept from spotlight ever since it was rumored she was pregnant with her first child at 40.

Raised under strong BaSotho values in Soweto, Thembi continues to inspire many young girls within her community and the country at large with the actress having the privilege to headline important high teas with phenomenal women in attendance across Jozi.

Thembi who always wanted to be in the spotlight from a very tender age has blessed us with more than 20 years of entertainment ever since we knew her as the energetic 19-year-old Thembi (nickname Tay-Tay) from Boom Shaka who has been unstoppable.

Some of her notable acting appearances include the SABC drama series Yizo Yizo, Zone 14, Rhythm City and many others. Thembi also graced our screens as a presenter on Jika Majika and many shows on SABC.
