Update: Stabbed Lesedi FM presenter Dimakatso Ratselane out of ICU, speaks out

A popular radio presenter, who was stabbed several times near a tavern on Friday, is out of intensive care and her family says her surgery went well.
Dimakatso Folotsi-Ratselane, a presenter on Lesedi FM, had an argument with her partner who allegedly stabbed her several times and ran away at Dinaweng informal settlement in the Free State.
Family spokesperson Tsietsi Mohoakali said: “She was [moved from ICU] yesterday and she can now speak. She has already told the police what happened on that horrible night.”
He added that she is recovering very well.
Scary pictures of the radio presenter with stab wounds on her mouth and body were circulated on social media at the weekend.
Provincial police spokesperson Brig Makhele Motantsi said the suspect is still on the run and investigations are at an advanced stage.
“It is alleged that the radio presenter and her husband left their home in Mandela View, travelling to Phase 2 where they were to fetch their children. Along the way, they quarreled and they ended up in an informal settlement popularly known as Dinaweng,” he said.
Motantsi said community members and friends found Folotsi-Ratselane in a critical condition near Bra White’s Tavern around midnight.
“Her body was covered with blood, indicating that she suffered multiple stab wounds. She was taken to Pelonomi Hospital.”
He added that they found her in a bad state as she could not speak.
SABC acting spokesperson Mmoni Seapolelo said the public broadcaster was saddened by the incident.
