Purpose of the Role:

A well known automotive company based in Sandton, is seeking to find an individual that will successfully be responsible of coordinating key activities pertaining to the company’s Passenger short range sales forecasting process by ensuring all aspects of vehicle introduction, sales potential and stock management is taken into account to ensure optimal planning and realistic market share targeting. This is a 4 months contract

Key Responsibilities:

Co-ordinate and oversee the Sales forecast into IVA, to ensure a high level of accuracy that is realistic.
Short term = monthly, Mid Term = annual, Long Term = Planning Round for 5 year horizon
Ensure a high levels of accuracy for all measurements
Co-ordination and management of data input into Group Sales Planning systems via the Group MPL system to ensure accurate data is in this system at all times.
Responsible for the stock management in market:
Negotiate with Group on stock factors, days’ supply, turn rates, etc..
Negotiation of production requirements with Group via email and discussions to assist stock requirements
Management of the operation of group systems supporting vehicle planning and ordering functionality (IMF/FPL/NADCON/LAP)
Compilation of long-range sales forecasts in IVA.
Responsible for volume studies to support product innovations to evaluate possible risks and opportunities for new model introductions.
Management of the monthly Dealer/ Special Markets allocation process to ensure that the sales areas are provided with accurate and informative data for them to continue with their leg of the process.
Management of run-out and run-in planning of model types and model derivatives to minimize obsolescence and cost.
Manage all mix planning within the company’s Passenger brand in conjunction with Sales and NSO Controlling. Consistently review selling rates to adjust engine, transmission and options selling for each model based on performance in market and competition
Providing support to the Volume Planning Manager to ensure deadlines are achieved and work is at a high level of accuracy
Liaising with NSO Controlling and Finance to meet required deadlines for systems upload
Project Manager for IVA, which includes liaising with IS on systems requirements, overseeing the Admin functionality and liaison with other company

Minimum experience & qualifications required

A formal 3-year National diploma or Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in Commerce/ Finance/ Marketing / Business Management
A post-graduate qualification will be beneficial
Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the automotive industry, ideally within some of the following fields:
Sales
Product planning/ marketing
Volume Planning
Minimum of 4 years at staff level (Grade 10).
Good understanding of Company / Group Systems
Knowledge of Company Passenger product range
Systems, processes and people management experience

Behavioural skills required

Excellent analytical skills with structured, methodological, logical thought processes and approach
Strategic and conceptual thinking capabilities
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet set deadlines whilst maintaining strict quality standards
Sound understanding of the automotive market and competitive environment
Technical understanding of vehicle systems and technology, with specific reference to company’s Passenger products

Strong numeracy skills and flair to work accurately with numeric detail
