Cape Town – Local TV personality Pearl Thusi shared a part of her heartfelt birthday speech, dedicated to Basetsana Khumalo on Instagram, and we’re not crying, you’re crying.
The former Quantico actress starts off by telling her guests that the very first laptop she owned, she received from Bassie. Before telling the touching story of how the businesswoman, and philanthropist helped her lay her grandmother to rest.
“I didn’t have money to go bury my grandmother. I called her and we were supposed to drive down together because she was headed that way and it happened that she was actually going to Newcastle and I was going to Durban. And she bought me and my daughter a flight and hired us a car, so I could lay my grandmother to rest,” she says.
Throughout the speech, Pearl struggles to hold back the tears and wipes her cheek several times. But honestly, so are we!
She captions the video: “You have been a rock and shield in my life without wavering. I hope God continues to bless you abundantly. I love you.”
The Scorpion King actress celebrated her 30th birthday with close friends, and family on 12 May.
