Babes Wodumo’s dad: I will never accept Mampintsha’s lobola

EVEN if Mampintsha tries to pay lobola for Babes his father won’t accept it.

This is after BABES’ VIDEO appeared in the early hours of yesterday morning in which she is seen being assaulted by the kwaito artists

Babes’s father and angry Mzansi people are demanding that action is taken against Mampintsha.

THROUGHOUT MZANSI THERE ARE CALLS FOR HIM TO FACE THE LAW!

The video went live on Babes Wodumo’s Instagram account at about 4am and showed her boyfriend Mampintsha handing out hot klaps.

In the video, Babes is heard saying in Zulu: “You are hitting me, why are you hitting me?”

She also said, “Ungijwayela amasimba,” which means, “You are disrespecting me”.

Then Mampintsha is seen beating Babes several times and pulling her by the hair. While hitting her he is heard saying: “There are kids in this house. What do you mean I’m full of shit!”

Babes’ angry father, Bishop Welcome Simelane, told Daily Sun that Mampintsha had been abusing his daughter.

“I heard from sources that Mampintsha has an inyanga that gives him muthi to bewitch my daughter so that she will take his instructions,” he claimed.

“Forgive Babes if she doesn’t show up for events. Mampintsha is the reason. He keeps her hostage.”

He said Mampintsha never paid lobola for Babes.

“Even if he offers to pay lobola, I will never accept it.”

He said Babes had opened a case at Westville Police Station.

Yesterday, the KZN EFF branch opened a civil case of assault against Mampintsha at Umlazi Police Station.
Vusi Khoza, the party’s provincial chairman, told Daily Sun at the police station that they condemn what Mampintsha did.

“The evidence is seen on social media. We call on police to arrest him,” said Khoza.

Afrotainment boss DJ Tira released a statement that read: “My heart is sad for Babes Wodumo. No woman should have to go through this. For those who know me, you know that I have never and would never approve of abuse.”
Government departments and other political parties have also been speaking out about the incident.

The DA in KZN said Mampintsha deserves jail. Xolani Khubisa, provincial youth chairwoman, said abuse and killing of women is one of the most under-reported crimes.
“We are calling for the law enforcement to tackle this matter urgently,” said Khubisa.

KZN Department of Arts and Culture MEC Bongi Sithole-Moloi said she strongly condemned what she saw on the video. “I’m horrified by this attack on a woman. We call upon the police to immediately arrest this perpetrator.”
National police spokesman Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo said that yesterday the video was still being analysed to verify the identities of those in it.
He said: “A senior member of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit has been dedicated to investigate this case.”
