VIDEO: House keeper Thembi and her Boss steal the internet
Mzansi people are divided over videos of a helper known as Thembi and his mlungu boss Malcolm.
Thembi’s boss posted several videos featuring himself and Thembi engaged in several activities.
It appears the videos were meant for fun but other people on social media believe they are in a bad taste.
In one of the videos, Thembi is seen driving her boss’s car while in another, Thembi gets to choose expensive champagne for the weekend.
There are other video clips where she pours him with water when he is sleeping and where they dance together.
These videos drew mixed reactions on Twitter and sparked a debate between those who love the videos and those who despise them.
Those who hated the videos called them racist and patronizing while others said they were just fun and there was nothing wrong with them.

I am sure there are some brands that could use Thembi as an influencer.
The streets love her energy and personality. Based on her current job – she could niche and do MAC washing powder ,Mr Min etc . The kitchen has lots of products and appliances. pic.twitter.com/IFkd6OYQ6X

-Thembi sits on a leader couch and watch Netflix.
-Fridays she's given a bottle of alcohol to go and enjoy at home
-Her relationship with her 'Boss' is far better than relationships black maids have with other black bosses
I see no racism but love, I love this white guy🙌

It might not seem like much but Thembi drives, drinks the expensive champagne, tries on her employer's clothes, has a Netflix account, gets randomly given cash whilst you still complain that your helper uses too much sugar in her tea and watches Skeem Sam while she irons.

benevolent white people and their domestic helpers content will always feel like hostage videos to me. It doesn’t matter how much fun they look like they’re having, the power dynamics of these relationships begs the question of if they were really allowed to say no to taking part

There was this white guy, from my neighbourhood, who went viral for a video of him teaching his helper how to drive. Made it on news websites, got an interview on Expresso, everything. Turns out they had a whole youtube channel together. It just rubbed me the wrong way.
