The Meaning Of My Yoki Yoki
Limpopo musician Vhudi has become an instant sensation following his performance on popular singing competition Idols SA.
Vhudi auditioned in Johannesburg and following his performance has received requests from Davido and Black Coffee to work with him.
He performed his own original song My Yoki Yoki, which had judges Somizi Mhlongo, Unathi Nkayi, Randall Abrahams and Buhle Mda singing along.
Speaking to Sowetan, the 20-year-old explained the meaning of the now-famous song.
“I was trying to impress someone when I wrote the song,” he told the publication.
“I didn’t get the girl, but she was very excited about the song. Yes, is shortened from ‘My Yonkinto’. It just came up as I was writing the song.”
Vhudi’s performance has created quite the buzz around the young man, with some people already calling My Yoki Yoki song of the summer.
