DJ Maphorisa Sparks Speculation with Instagram Post of Thuli Phongolo

It appears that the connection between DJ Maphorisa and Thuli Phongolo has resurfaced. Or maybe it never really disappeared?

The artist, known as the “Mnike” hitmaker, whose real name is Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe, shared an intriguing Instagram story on Sunday, November 12th.

The post featured a photo that seemed to be a reflection of the former Generations: The Legacy actress.

In the image, Thuli is standing in a bedroom with her back to a mirror, showcasing her new Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) – a cosmetic procedure involving the transfer of fat from one or more areas of the patient’s body to enhance their buttocks.

Initially, Thuli shared this image on her Instagram stories, and DJ Maphorisa later posted the same photo alongside his hit song “Bopha” with Mellow & Sleazy, Felo Le Tee, and Young Stunna.

It’s important to note that DJ Maphorisa’s post follows nearly three months since his assault case was dropped.

In May of this year, the producer and owner of the BlaqBoy Music record label was arrested for allegedly assaulting Thuli at her residence in Sandton. He was granted bail of R4,000 after his initial court appearance.

On the same day, the former Rockville actress submitted a withdrawal statement. However, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) decided to pursue the case.

NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane stated, “We can confirm that the case against DJ Maphorisa was withdrawn after he made successful representations to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. He submitted representations, and after reviewing them, we decided to withdraw the charges.”

The case was withdrawn following the complainant’s withdrawal statement, and further considerations led to the decision to withdraw the case by the office of the director of prosecutions.
