Boxing South Africa CFO Kenneth Mamosadi Fatally Shot Outside Pretoria Home

Top boxing official gunned down in his driveway

A devastating incident rocked the boxing community as Kenneth Mamosadi, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Boxing South Africa (BSA), fell victim to a fatal shooting outside his residence in Pretoria on Friday night.

According to police spokesperson Lt-Col Mavela Masondo, the tragic event unfolded around 10:45 pm when Mamosadi was targeted by two assailants in his driveway.

Masondo stated, “Preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was approached by two men who shot at him before they drove away in a white Renault.

The motive for the killing cannot be confirmed at this stage.”

The untimely demise of Mamosadi comes amidst efforts by Sports Minister Zizi Kodwa to bring stability to the troubled BSA. Kodwa, in a bid to ensure the continuation of boxing operations, recently appointed Mandla Ntlanganiso as the acting CEO to oversee the organization’s affairs.

BSA has faced significant challenges, having operated without a board since December due to a court interdict obtained by a group of promoters against the executive appointed by Kodwa.

This tumultuous period has left BSA grappling with financial difficulties, a situation exacerbated by the previous board’s mismanagement of resources.

As the investigation into Mamosadi’s tragic death unfolds, the boxing fraternity mourns the loss of a valued member, highlighting the need for swift action to address the underlying issues within BSA and ensure the safety of its stakeholders.
