Another loss for Jacob Zuma as he is expelled by SANCO

SA National Civic Organisation (Sanco) Disbands Warring Provincial Executive Committees, Removing Jacob Zuma from Disputed Office.

The SA National Civic Organisation (Sanco) has disbanded its warring provincial executive committees (PEC) in an effort to unite the organization.

Former President Jacob Zuma, who was listed as a disputed office bearer in KwaZulu-Natal, along with other elected members from the disputed provincial election, will no longer hold their initial positions but will be part of an interim structure.

In a letter to ANC Secretary-general Fikile Mbalula, Sanco KwaZulu-Natal notified the ANC of the organization’s decision to disband its divided structures.

Following this, the warring provincial factions held an “integration meeting” in Durban, where they agreed to dissolve their structures and establish a National Interim Coordinating Committee (NICC).

The interim structure will operate under a previously agreed-upon constitution until an elective conference can be held, coordinated by leaders from both factions.

Additionally, the two camps have proposed settling outstanding issues out of court and have suggested that the elective conference take place in November.

During the integration meeting, Zuma emphasized the importance of Sanco and urged unity within the ANC, stating that he would not leave the ANC as it was his home.

He called for a change in leadership, referring to President Cyril Ramaphosa, and criticized the influence of wealthy individuals on ANC members.

As part of the reorganization, Richard Mkhungo has been appointed as national convener and Mike Soko as national coordinator.

Sanco emphasized the need for unity at all levels, with the decisions made at the NEC level being reflected at the PEC level.

The new provincial structure includes Zuma as provincial convener, Lawrence Dube as deputy provincial convener, Sizwe Cele as provincial coordinator, Lucky Hadebe as deputy provincial coordinator, Sabatha Mzimela as provincial treasurer, and Mduduzi Hlatshwayo as provincial organizer.

The move by Sanco aims to bring about unity within the organization and ensure selfless service to the community.
