Former Sizok’thola Presenter, Xolani Khumalo, Faces Two New Charges

State Adds Two New Charges Against Former Sizokthola Presenter Xolani Khumalo

The State has levied additional charges against Xolani Khumalo, the former Sizok’thola presenter accused of murder.

Khumalo now faces charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances and malicious damage to property.

These new charges stem from an alleged incident in July, during the filming of an unaired episode of the show.

Khumalo and his TV crew are accused of beating Robert Varrie to death at his Katlehong home.

In a brief appearance at the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court in Katlehong on Tuesday, Khumalo found himself facing the Varrie family, who wore t-shirts proclaiming ‘No one is above the law.’

State prosecutor Pheelo Vilakazi informed the court that National Director of Public Prosecutions, Shamila Batohi, had decided to move Khumalo’s case to a regional court.

“Take note that your office, at the consultation with the witnesses, still retains any discretion to add any further charges as it may deem fit.”

The court postponed the matter to 22 February for further investigation. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
